Deborah Mumaw DahlinSeptember 3, 1957 ~ December 28, 2016 (age 59)
Deborah “Debbie” Lynn Mumaw Dahlin, 59, born in Cleveland, Ohio was the youngest of six siblings. Debbie graduated from John Marshall High School in 1975. Debbie then joined the U.S. Navy where she learned computer programming as a flight simulator repair technician (TD-2). She received an honorable discharge in 1979 after four years of service.
She received a B.S. in chemistry from the University of West Florida. While in Florida she also was married and had two children. In 1984 she moved to Virginia where she became a computer programmer and started her own business. In 1999 with a passion for teaching Debbie became a high school teacher at Northampton High School. Further pursuing her teaching and computer passions she started teaching computer network security in 2005.
Debbie passed away peacefully surrounded by family holding her sons and sisters hands on December 28th in her home.
Debbie was predeceased by her mother Alice Barton Mumaw, father John Pike Mumaw, brother Randy Mumaw and former in laws Helen and Warren Dahlin.
She is survived by her brother John William Mumaw and wife Anne, sisters Beth and her husband Andy Rogers, Patty Herczeg and Sandy Mumaw. Debbie is also survived by her sons Robert Michael Dahlin and Thomas William Dahlin and his wife Kasey.
A graveside service with military honors will be held on Monday, January 2nd at 11:00 a.m. at Cape Charles Cemetery with Chaplain Mary Jimenez officiating.
