Janet Mapp Kellam

November 30, 1932 ~ June 20, 2016 (age 83)

Janet Mapp Kellam, 83, widow of the late Benjamin Franklin Kellam, Jr., and a resident of Exmore died peacefully at her home on Monday, June 20, 2016. Born in Nassawadox she was the daughter of the late Joseph Thomas Mapp, Jr. and Virginia Gibb Mapp. She was a member of Johnson’s United Methodist Church and was the church organist for many years. Mrs. Kellam retired from Northampton County Public Schools as a teachers aide.

A graveside service will be held at Johnson’s Cemetery, Johnsontown, on Tuesday, June 28th at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Jonathan Carpenter officiating.

Mrs. Kellam is survived by three sons, Benjamin Franklin Kellam III, of Williamsburg, John Mapp Kellam and wife Tina of Hiwassee, VA. and Joseph Lee Kellam and wife Lourdes of Calgary, Canada; one daughter, Linda Kellam Paschall and husband Bob of Exmore; one brother, Joseph Thomas Mapp, III of Virginia Beach; five grandchildren, Matthew  Joseph Gutierrez- Kellam, Maria  Isabel  Gutierrez- Kellam, Ashley Reece, Benjamin Ryan Kellam and Sydney Hope Parks; two nieces, Nicole Hardee and Nancy Kellam Rainey; one nephew, H.L. Kellam, Jr.; special cousins, Jo and Kim Penland and Jerry Vaughn; special friends, Will Zinn, Rebecca Hughes, Maria Ellen Simpkins and all of the staff at Riverside Shore Hospice who became members of her extended family.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Riverside Shore Hospice, P.O. Box 615, Onley, VA. 23418.
