Howard Allen LeCatoJune 3, 1935 ~ June 28, 2016 (age 81)
Howard Allen LeCato, 81, of Pungoteague, beloved husband of Jean Belote LeCato passed away on June 28, 2016. He was the youngest son of the late James Edwin LeCato and Ida Louella Ashby LeCato of Pungoteague.
After graduation from Central High School in Painter, he studied small appliance repair. He had a shop in his backyard and was always willing to help anyone. He worked for Horne-Stauffer Furniture Co. and Meyers- Tabakin Furniture Co. most of his life. He loved airplanes and was a fan of antique cars and NASCAR racing.
Survivors include his wife, Jean, daughter, Laurel LeCato Savage and husband Bill of Painter, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and sisters-in-laws; Aliene LeCato, Sally Flynn and husband Wayne, Patricia Abraham and husband Tim, Beverly Manning and husband Tom and Sharon Pearson and husband Bruce.
He was predeceased by his parents and two brothers; Joseph Franklin LeCato, Sr. and James Ashby LeCato, Sr.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at Cape Charles Cemetery with the Rev. Russell Goodrich officiating. Pallbearers will be Bill Savage, Jim LeCato, Bill LeCato, Keith Abraham, Tim Abraham and Bob Smith.
Friends may call at Fox & James Funeral Home on Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
The family would like to thank Tammy Truitt and all the Riverside Home Health Care team and Terri Shook and all the Hospice nurses and staff for all their caring and kindness during Howard’s illness. Also, thanks to Shermeka White and all the aides at Caring Touch.
